| So much to blog about: Yesterday I was having problems accessing Xanga, so you know.
I saw "Sideways" on saturday with Eva. (Eva is just a friend, Mom. Eva
has a boyfriend.) It was fun, we went to In-N-Out Burger first, then
saw the film. I really enjoyed the film.
On Sunday ROTC did "Valentines for Vets". That was a really good
community service project. We went to the VA hospital and delivered
valentines to the vets in the Nursing Home Care Unit. It was rewarding.
Today, of course, is Valentine's Day. Which would be a lot more fun if
John had a girlfriend, but alas, it is not so. We had a flower sale
today for Arnold Air Society. We made over a hundred so that was good.
Good stuff.

| Okay so the update I've been putting off:
It turns out those protesters were actually memebers of the Farce Side
comedy troupe doing a publicity stunt. I'm sure that there was an
actual dislike of Crow involved as well. See the State Press.
I saw the Notebook last night. It was good. But I miss read the flyer
and missed the Pirates party tonight, which sucks. Oh well.
Susan's engagement: I now regard the engagement itself as a fati
acompli. Now I just have to get my head around the actual wedding.
Now for the superawesomeness:
I GOT MY MEDICAL CLEARED! I've had so many problems and challanges with
getting my medical cleared for ROTC, but I found out yesterday from
Col. Guthrie that I got the wavier I needed and I'm in. Well, I still
haven't signed on the doted line or anything, and I'm not on
scholarship, but that was the last barrier to entry. Which is so sweet
I can't put it into words.
I GOT A BRAVO FROM THE STATE PRESS! Check it out: http://www.asuwebdevil.com/issues/2005/02/11/opinions/691936
Sweet Huh? Being involved rocks! That's one thing to check off the
to-do list here at ASU! But seriously, it is important to be involved
with local government. Not everyone needs to go to city council
meetings (there's a reason we're not a direct democracy) but you should
still know who you're city councilperson is and when they're
considering issues that will impact you. Local government: not just for
old people.

| Right now, I'm at a work session for DBF. Design Build Fly. It's a student competition for AIAA. I'm sitting Clyde and Ben. Clyde is in charge of the DBF team. Ben is actually in HARVEE. A student research project. But then again, we never see Ben at HARVEE meetings. I think he's on the project, because he was at some of the meetings. We're supposed to be working on the budget for the DBF project, but mostly they've just been talking about different classes and how they did or did not do well. I have no idea of what they're talking about because I'm still in semi-general engineering classes. And we haven't done anything on the budget yet. Sigh | | |
| I totally meant to do some updates yesterday, but got distracted. I'm currently in my numerical methods lab with my friend Amber, the mildly incompetent. She managed to horribly embarass herself in class. I've embarassed myself badly, but never anything approaching the magnitude with which she shamed herself. She might as well have ended up wearing a scarlet "A" for how badly she shamed herself. FYI, she's reading this post as I type, and she's none too happy. Perhaps she should remember whose pants she's wearing. | | |
